Trotsky

I am extremely astonished at your silence at such a time when, according to information, albeit not fully confirmed, the break-through in the Millerovo direction has reached the dimensions of an almost irreparable catastrophe.[1] What measures have been taken to prevent the enemy joining forces with the insurgents?

Lenin

  1. Towards the end of May the front of the Soviet troops at Millerovo was broken through, which resulted in the withdrawal of units of the Southern Front and allowed Denikin’s forces to unite with Cossack insurgents in villages of the Upper Don.
