Dear Comrade:
I am very, very disquieted at not receiving any information from you about the happenings in France and especially about your plans for the future. I can understand that you found it necessary to interrupt your sojourn in France and to abandon the leaders of the POI to their own helplessness. But such a situation cannot last for a long time. We must elaborate a solution in one direction or the other. It is necessary not only for the French party, but also for the American section; after the great effort of the American comrades, a disappointment can have very negative consequences.
I have some hypothetical propositions, but they are too vague and I prefer to have your information and suggestions before formulating some concrete propositions.
I should also be very glad to hear from you as to how you found the American party after your absence.
