Letter to the Secretariat of the CC, RCP(b), May, after 5, 1920

Preobrazhenskyâs letter to Lenin suggesting that âa stop be put to the disgusting âpatriotismââ, and mentioning a speech of Radekâs âabout a ânationalâ warâ and a chauvinist article by Bergman in Agitrosta. Preobrazhensky asked to be allowed to give appropriate directives to the editors of newspapers, especially provincial ones. To Preobrazhenskyâs request, Lenin answered: = âI am wholly in favourâ, and he proposed the directive reproduced here.
