For or Against?
Dear Comrade Theo van Driesten:
Through you, I am addressing these lines to all our young Dutch friends who are assembled, during this crisis of the youth organization, around the truly revolutionary, Marxist banner. The bitter character of the struggle and the fact of the split carried out by the opportunists of the SAP testify to the enormous importance of these questions, which are placed on the historical agenda.
To be against the Fourth International means: consciously or unconsciously to adapt to and spread illusions about the Second and Third Internationals. That is the road that leads to once again turning the proletarian vanguard into cannon fodder for capitalist patriotism.
To be for the Fourth International means: a clearly determined program; revolutionary class struggles; intransigent internationalism; no illusions in the bankrupts or their agents; educating and forging the youth in the spirit of the proletarian revolution.
