And so, it is precisely agreed between us that
(1) at tomorrow’s meeting with the Germans you will be the first to speak (none of the Russians before you),[1]
(2) you will first read the theses (afterwards make a speech, or a report, or a commentary),
(3) you will show me the theses tomorrow before the meeting (i.e., in the morning before 2 o’clock; I shall be leaving after that).
This is extremely important. It is a directive of the CC and the CPC It is obligatory!

- ↑ This refers to a meeting of the Russo-German Commission held in Moscow on May 15, 1918, to discuss the conditions for resuming economic relations between Russia and Germany. The report at the meeting was made by M. G. Bronsky, Deputy People’s Commissar for Trade and Industry. The main propositions in his report had been vetted by Lenin.
