Just a few lines, Mother dearest, to let you know that my departure has unfortunately been delayed for a time, but not for long; I hope to see you on Sunday or on Tuesday evening, the 21st or the 23rd.[1] Many kisses and please do not worry about my health; I now feel quite well and walk a lot as we are having such glorious weather. After two or three days of rain everything is green, there is no dust yet, the air is wonderful, so you can’t help wanting to be ins Grüne.[2]

- ↑ Lenin’s journey to Podolsk was delayed. On May 20, 1900 he went secretly to St. Petersburg to meet local Social-Democrats and establish means of communication to be used after his leaving Russia. On May 21 he was arrested for illegal entry into the capital. He was released on May 31 and was dispatched to Podolsk in the company of a police official, arriving on June 1.
