Written on a letter from I. I. Skvortsov-Stepanov to the RCP(b) Central Committee requesting that lie be released from the post of deputy chairman of the Editorial Collegium of Gosizdat, leaving him a member of it, and to allow him a substantial holiday in view of his poor health. He was granted leave by a decision of the CC Secretariat.
Comrade Stalin:
In sending on to you this letter of Comrade Skvortsov-Stepanov, I strongly support his request. He is a sickly person, but an especially valuable worker. He should be given a rest in accordance with his request; I strongly support this. Once he has recovered and taken a rest, he will be of very great use both as a professor, nota bene, and a writer.
