Decision of the CPC on the Financing of Sugar-Beet Sowing Campaign

The question of providing funds for financing the sugar-beet sowing campaign was raised by the Chief Sugar Committee; this request was supported by the Congress of Sugar Industry Workers, which was held jointly with representatives of the land committees. The CPC on April 17, 1918, discussed the application tabled by the Supreme Economic Council for twenty million rubles to be allocated to the Chief Sugar Committee and endorsed Lenin’s draft decision in this connection.

Twenty million rubles is allocated to the Supreme Economic Council to be advanced to the peasants-for sugar-beet sowing, the SEC to take all the necessary steps ensuring the proper expenditure of these sums and their timely repayment.
