Again on the Reiss Case
Author(s) | Leon Trotsky |

Written | 12 March 1938 |
Dear Comrades:
I am informed that Comrade Vereecken has attempted to embellish Sneevlietâs role in the Reiss case by shifting the responsibility to Leon Sedov. I refrain here from characterizing this attempt as it deserves. I simply announce that I have at hand all the correspondence, including Sneevlietâs letter, and that this latter document by itself is completely sufficient to judge the matter. I will transmit all this documentation to the International Conference and I will ask for a special commission to establish the responsibility of all the parties to this important and tragic affair.
I wish only to say in advance that Leon Sedov was the embodiment of duty itself. There is not the least stain on his memory. He could indeed serve as an example to all those who are blaming him for mistakes and crimes committed by others. Our International will judge.
