Deng Enming

DENG ENMING (1901-1931) helped found the Communist cell in Jinan and served as one of the Jinan Communist cell's two representatives at the First Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in 1921. A native of Guizhou and a member of the Shui minority, Deng Enming was active in the May Fourth Movement and helped found a study society called Promote the New, which began publishing a semimonthly magazine of the same name in November 1919. He held leadership positions in the Communist cells of Shandong and Qingdao before he was arrested in 1928 and killed in 1931. He was also known by the names Enming and Huang Paiyun.
