Avec le recul, le succès des sociétés charbonnières à Blair Mountain apparaît comme une victoire à la Pyrrhus, qui a permis à des mouvements ouvriers beaucoup plus grands et plus forts de pouvoir émerger dans d'autres industries, ainsi qu'à créer des associations de tutelle entre les syndicats, comme la <span class="mw-redirect">American Federation of Labor</span> ou le <span class="mw-redirect">Congress of Industrial Organizations</span>.
