This note is Lenin’s reply to an inquiry asking his opinion about the proposal of the Manager of the Northern Regional Branch of the National (State) Bank to celebrate December 14—the anniversary of the promulgation of the decree nationalising private banks.

I think there has been enough celebrating. It is ludicrous!

We shall “celebrate” 14. XII by a nice, correct, skilful, rapid merger of the Co-operative Bank with the State Bank.
