Letter to the Members of the Political Bureau of the CC, RCP(b), October 13, 1920
Written on a report from Commander-in-Chief S. S. Kamenev to the Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic. He proposed that the armistice with Poland should be utilised for the speediest rout of Wrangelâs whiteguard forces. At the end of point 2 of Kamenevâs practical proposalsâon using part of the forces and resources of the Western Front for military operations in the south of the country âwithout touching those of the South-Western Frontâ â Lenin made an insertion mark â[math]\displaystyle{ \stackrel x\surd }[/math]â with a footnote: âAdd [math]\displaystyle{ \stackrel x\surd }[/math] until the armistice becomes an actual fact.â
Under Leninâs proposal for approving the report of the Commander-in-Chief is a note by Krestinsky: âAgreed. N.K.â and the signatures of Stalin and Bukharin.
Members of the Politbureau
I think we should agree with the Commander-in-Chief, adding: until the armistice becomes an actual fact.
