January 4

Dear Maria Alexandrovna and Anya,

The compliments of the season from to and Mother to you and Mark Timofeyevich. Actually there is nothing to write about. Life is very monotonous. I have scarcely any acquaintances hero. 01 late I had been getting to know a young girl-not really a girl but the mother of the sweetest baby girl-but she left for Russia a few days ago.

We go walking every day, but don’t overdo it. The weather is fine, but the mud is awful.

The holidays passed quietly, quite unnoticeably. The libraries here are Polish and there is a University library, but we are always busy and neither Volodya nor I have over been to it.

And we have not been to a concert once.

We are all well.

I embrace you and send many kisses.

Yours,

Nadya
