Letter to Georgy Pyatakov and Moisei Frumkin, October 30, 1922
Source: Lenin Collected Works, Progress Publishers, 1976, Moscow, Volume 45, pages 586c-587a
Comrades Pyatakov and Frumkin
Copies to Comrades Stalin and Kamenev
The telegram received about Comrade Krasinâs meeting with Urquhartâs agent makes us hasten with the insertion of the discussion articles on this question. That is why I request that Pyatakovâs article should be inserted in Pravda tomorrow, with the reservation that it is being carried by way of discussion. The day after, insert Frumkinâs article, or anyone elseâs according to his choice.
I think it would be better for us to have both articles signed, but this requires a re-decision on what was decided by the Politbureau, that is why the question of signing the article should be left open until tonight.[1]
Lenin
- â A probable reference to the Politbureau of the RCP(b) CC decision of October 26, 1922, in connection with the proposal to issue a popular pamphlet on the Urquhart agreement. The Politbureau decided to set up a commission âto review and write as soon as possible articles on the Urquhart agreementâ consisting of G. L. Pyatakov and B. S. Stomonyakov and approved instructions for the commission in which it defined the content of the articles.
The discussion articles under the general title, âOn the Question of the Urquhart Concession Rejected by the CPCâ, were published in several issues of Pravda (October 31, and November 1 to 3, 1922).
